When people talk about their water footprint, often they only mean their active use of water. Like the water used for showering or washing their clothes. But most of the water is consumed and polluted in the processing stages of the production of food, beverage and clothes.
This infographic deals with the water footprint of the six mainly consumed beverages in Germany.

So now you can see how much water you actually consume, when a bottle of beer slips down your throat.
