Maggi state, drug stronghold and country bumpkins. There are many clichés and rumors about the Saarland, but how is the small state really doing? How does it compare to the rest of the republic? In the traveling exhibition »Das Saarland in Zahlen«, the state was examined down to the smallest detail. The huge mass of facts, data and figures were evaluated and graphically presented in an easy-to-understand and descriptive manner.
The planning was accompanied by the idea that the exhibition should go on tour to reach and inform as many people as possible. The idea resulted in a kind of sign forest, which was already on display at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar and at the HTW in Göttelborn as part of the prä-IBA. The three-dimensional infographics provide a new view of Saarland and dispel the rumor that diagrams and figures always have to be boring and monotonous.
